September, “Sickle Cell Awareness,” month is now gone… in the rear view! There’s always so much hype surrounding promoting awareness and education for sickle cell disease and with the ushering in of October, now is not the time to stop. This begins a dangerous time of year for our loved ones who are affected as the temperature begins to change. Cool mornings, warm days, and cool nights don’s always bode well for patients. Taking that jacket or sweat shirt with you at all times is important now and hydration is always key. As you continue to say healthy and keep loved ones healthy, what are you doing to further educating others and raising awareness about sickle cell disease? September is gone, but awareness and education should be steadfast. Keep going… stay healthy.
